Central Park*

The land on which the park was built has sat empty since Moore was founded approximately 150 years ago.  The city purchased the land from the family of Dr. Curtis Berry. The family believed in the vision for the park and wanted the land to be used for such a great community purpose. Thus, the official name of the park is Dr. Curtis Berry - Central Park.

The City of Moore would like to thank its generous citizens who approved a property tax increase to fund the construction of Central Park in a 2012 bond election. Your commitment to making our city a great place to live, work, and play is not only appreciated, but it’s also evident in every aspect of this beautiful, innovative community space!

The train-themed playground at Central Park is one of the only parks in the metro designed to accommodate children of all abilities.

The extra wide ramps and platforms are wheelchair-accessible, and sensory-stimulating activities encourage inclusive play.

Kids of all ages can enjoy the rocking motion of the SwayFun Glider, go down one of two slides accessible by ramp, climb or crawl through a tunnel, or pretend to be a railroad conductor atop the train-shaped playground structure.

Exciting ground level components add another level to the playground, and adaptive swings are designed specifically for those with special needs.

Shaded seating areas give parents or guardians a place to relax and supervise their children while they play.

Looking for a safe, well-lit, outdoor trail where you can walk, run or cycle?

Look no further than Central Park. This 51-acre park features a walking trail that runs the full length of the recreational area.

Decorative lamps along the trail provide plenty of light, even after sunset, and the 12-foot wide concrete walkways allow plenty of room to safely pass slower pedestrians.

Patrons can gaze upon natural grasses and other native plants while enjoying a leisure walk or cardiovascular run around the park.

Restrooms, water fountains, and visitor parking are located near the multi-purpose pavilion.
